  • 3

ADD WATER – Pour in about 60-80 ml of hot (not boiling) water.

SERVE - Drink the matcha immediately, before the powder settles to the bottom.

ZOI Ceremonial Matcha

ZOI Ceremonial Matcha is a premium quality tea, ground to a very fine, intensely green powder. It is made from young, delicate leaves of a Japanese tea variety grown in the mountainous Jingshan region. Thanks to the favorable climate and traditional Japanese steaming process, the leaves retain their freshness, natural sweetness, and high umami levels.

FAQ - Frequently asked questions about our matcha

What is the best way to use Zoi Culinary Matcha?

For drinks such as matcha lattes, smoothies, ice cream, baked goods, pancakes, chia puddings, protein shakes and desserts.

How to prepare traditional matcha?

The traditional method of preparing matcha originates from the Japanese tea ceremony and emphasizes peace and mindfulness. Pour about 1–2 teaspoons of matcha into a bowl ( chawan ) and sift the powder until smooth and lump-free. Boil water and then cool it to approximately 80°C (176°F) – too hot water will strip the matcha of its delicate aroma and nutritional value. Pour in about 60–80 ml of water and, using a bamboo whisk ( chasen ), whisk the matcha vigorously, making M-shaped or W-shaped movements, until a light foam forms. Drink the prepared matcha immediately, savoring its flavor, aroma, and the tranquility that each cup brings.

Which type of matcha is right for me?

  • Ceremonial – a top-quality matcha with an intense green color and a naturally sweet flavor. Perfect for drinking on its own, according to the traditional tea ritual.
  • Premium – perfect for everyday drinking. It combines delicacy with depth of flavor, and works well as both a classic matcha and a latte.
  • Culinary – it has a more pronounced flavor and pairs well with milk and sweets. Perfect for matcha lattes, desserts, and baked goods.

How to store matcha to keep it fresh?

Store it tightly closed in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture. It's best to refrigerate it after opening to prevent loss of color and flavor.

What is the difference between matcha and loose-leaf green tea?

Matcha is a powdered form of green tea where you drink the whole, ground leaves, not just the infusion. This allows your body to absorb significantly more antioxidants, caffeine, and chlorophyll, resulting in improved well-being, natural energy, and a sense of concentration. This is the essence of green tea in its most intense form.

How is matcha different from coffee?

Matcha provides natural energy, but in a much gentler and more balanced way than coffee. Its caffeine releases gradually, providing a longer-lasting boost without a sudden energy crash. Additionally, matcha contains L-theanine, an amino acid that supports concentration and calmness—so after drinking it, you feel clear-headed, without irritability or tension. It's a harmonious alternative to your morning coffee.

Does our matcha have artificial colors or additives?

No, our matcha is 100% pure green tea powder, without any dyes, flavors or additives.
